This document is a product of the research project: ‘Applicability and scalability of a sustainable re-construction framework for seismic-prone heritage areas of Gujarat, India’, also known as 3D for Heritage India – Phase 3, funded by the UKRI Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS). Project Reference: AH/X006832/2. It is intended to serve as a model plan for similar villages with heritage value in the Kachchh region, envisioning the wider applicability of the proposed framework to utilise advanced recording technologies for the protection of heritage structures.
A draft version of this Village Disaster Management Plan (VMDP) for Bela was presented to and discussed with its community on the 17th of February 2024. This document has also been discussed in academic contexts. In its draft form, it was presented at the CEPT Centre for Heritage Conservation on the 15th of February 2024. Prior to publication, it was presented and discussed in a seminar and workshops held at the University of Nottingham on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of March 2025, as part of phase 4 of this research project, funded by the University of Nottingham.

બેલા ગામ માટેનો ગ્રામ આપત્તિ વ્યવસ્થાપન યોજના (VMDP) નો મુસદ્દો તેના સમુદાય સમક્ષ ૧૭મી ફેબ્રુઆરી, ૨૦૨૪ ના રોજ રજૂ કરીને ચર્ચા કરવામાં આવેલ. આ દસ્તાવેજની શૈક્ષણિક સંદર્ભોમાં પણ ચર્ચા કરવામાં આવેલ છે. તેના મુસદ્દાને સેપ્ટ સેન્ટર ફોર હેરીટેજ કન્ઝર્વેશન ખાતે ૧૫ ફેબ્રુઆરી, ૨૦૨૪ ના રોજ રજૂ કરવામાં આવેલ. પ્રકાશિત કરતા પહેલા નોટિંગહામ યુનિવર્સિટિમાં આ સંશોધનના ચોથા તબક્કાના (ફેઝ ૪) ભાગ રૂપે ૩,૪ અને ૫ માર્ચના રોજ પરિસંવાદ અને કાર્યશાળાઓમાં રજૂઆત અને ચર્ચા કરવામાં આવેલ.
